Well, then...
Babylon 5 officially keeps its position as the best science fiction series ever made. But Galactica came perilously close to knocking it off at times. I do have the say, the final montage had me laughing out loud. Even though it didn't quite reach the pinnacle, I'm glad I stuck with it until the end. It raised the bar in a lot of ways, especially acting, and I'm glad it got a chance to finish off on its own quirky terms. |

OMG! Vampire Apocalypse! - Throw the Produce
The next chapter has been delayed by life, Rock Band, and research into skin disorders. Don't ask. All will be made clear soon. Suffice it to say I have a protagonist and writing her introductory chapter has been challenging. I'm writing today, have a light schedule next week and hope to be done soon. This chapter is going to be MUCH longer than Chapter 1. Current Music: "Dead!" - My Chemical Romance |

Gears of War 2 Ad
For some reason I was really, really shocked that they used "How it Ends" by Devotchka. I just downloaded that album off iTunes three weeks ago. Good choice though. The song's pretty damn heartbreaking in a way similar to "Mad World" albeit a bit less melancholic. It's a better song on the whole, IMO, but the ad is somewhat inferior merely by following the previous one's idea of ironically downplaying the action. |

Stating the Obvious Perhaps...
I think the appointment of Rahm Emanuel suggests in no uncertain terms that Barack Obama isn't remotely anti-semetic or anti-Israel. Just for the remaining doubters. You know who you are. |

Bittersweet Victory
While I'm still predominantly overjoyed at the Obama victory, I have to say that I'm disappointed in the passage of Proposition 8 in California. Were I a Californian I would have voted against it. As I am not, I can only mourn its passage. I think Meryl Streep put it best when she said that the country has bigger problems than too many people wanting to love each other till death do us part. I don't think homosexuals being allowed to marry each other legally in any way detracts with my upcoming wedding. Us straight folks have been doing a great job of mucking it up what with the high divorce rates and such. It's not the job of the government to punish people for pursuing their happiness in a manner that causes no harm to others and only more joy for themselves. I honestly think that gay marriage will probably remind us straight people who take the right for granted why we do it in the first place. I hope this is overturned at the next election. OMG! VAMPIRE APOCALYPSE!!! Chapter 1
Happy Halloween everybody! Here's the first chapter of my story. I'm not thinking too hard about this one. Mostly I'm just writing for the fun of it. Still, any input would be appreciated since this is the first time I've publicly done any writing work outside of Spike Promos in quite some time. ( Chapter I ) |

Between "No Country For Old Men" winning best picture last year, the Dark Knight shredding box office records, and the impending arrival of the Watchmen movie, it seems now is a ripe time to examine my personal fascination with movies that like to stare deeply into the depths of despair. Here is a brief list of personal favorite fictional works that take a bath in the sea of futility, fear and hopelessness from amusingly doomed, to claw your eyes out agonizing. MERRILY DOOMED
